1st gen help please
I have more then one question for you guys that own first gens. Let me start off by stating I have an 87 si. Recently I have had the problem of hicupping after the car was warmed up. Well I tried the fuel pump, fuel filter, and injectors. None of those worked. Then, I was looking at my wiring up to the coolant temp sensor, noticed it was broken. So I fixed that. That fixed my hicupping problem too. But noticed that there was a 5 ohm resistor from the wiring that goes to the coolant temp sensor to the temperature gauge sensor. Is that necessary? Or can I remove it?
My car has also been running extremely hot. If I've recently replaced both of the sensors mentioned above, what can I replace next to get rid of this problem? The thermostat is brand new, the fan is hot wired to run constant, so those aren't problems. I do have one hose going from the back of the block to the intake manifold that is cracked, I am going to replace that today, but I don't think that would cause my car to run extremely hot. Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated, it has me really stumped.
Ok next problem. I believe my tps is bad. It is slow to accelerate when I am in low rpms. Also, my car likes to die when I am coming to a stop. Any other signs of a bad tps?
Now for the final problem, and I won't bug anybody anymore. Do you know where I could get a decent diagram of vacuum lines? The diagram under the hood is all faded, and of no help to me. The people that help me work on my car are all 2nd gen owners, so they have hardly any clue as to what goes where.
Thank you to anyone who has any clue to what I am talking about as not all of it makes sense to me.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. I am throwing code 7. I know this is the tps code. Would this cause me to run hella-rich? I am only getting 20 mpg on a good tank.
a tps code probably would cause you to run rich. It may just be out of adjustment. I believe you have to slot the screws to adjust the TPS on a 1g (I know for all later ones you have to).
I have a vac diagram that is good, actually I have an entire 85 Si if you need any parts. I will try to get a pic of the vac diagram for you.
