Default 4G headlight disassembly

I need to remove the front glass form the hedlight body, but when I remove the metal clips, the adhesive is too hard and I can't remove it. Is there any way to remove it? I don't want to make any damage of course.

Are you trying to seperate the glass from the rest of the headlight?

Why do you want to remove the glass? If you are doing some type of mod to the headlights like paint the inside, you will need to remove the whole light from the car.

Thats right. If you are trying to remove the glass a heatgun to heat the adhesive will help.

Yes, I need to seperate the glass from the rest of the headlight and yes, the whole headlight is out of the car. The glass is damaged so I need to replace it from some older headlight without buying a new one from Honda dealer.

Try using a heatgun or hairdryer to heat the adhesive. When it starts to seperate shove something (pennys, nails, etc) to keep it seperated and cut with a knife. Also i have heard of people putting them in the oven at like 250 degrees for 5 min to make the adhesive seperate a little easier.

I can't use the whole headlight, because one of them is a VTEC (all silver) and one of them is non-VTEC (black inside). At least here in Europe there are 2 types of the headlight's inside.

When I succesfully separate the glass and now I will need to "connect" them back, should I remove the rest of the original adhesive and put there a new one (e.g. silicone) or is it better to leave there the original adhesive?

Replace the old silicone with new.If you do not make a good seal you will get condensation in the light.

glass outter housing? 350 for 5 minutes.

Use oven mits, pennies, and nickels. Screw driver to pull it apart.

I'd use Honda Bond to put it back together.

I did this less than a month ago.
Str8rcn helped me with his tips.

Fassell and I are creating a Honda Cookbook for what parts you can bake, what temp, and for how long. LOL
