I was going through my old webpage directories and found this. I remember getting that back in Feb 1999, on my CRX, thus making my car the only smog legal LS/VTEC setup anywhere. Dunno if people had done it after I did, but man did everyone and their mother ask me how I did it. Even though it was such an easy answer to give to them, they still couldn't believe that I had a smog legal LS/VTEC CRX.... hehe.

Oh, in case you're wondering..... I had the B18A swap in there when I took it to the smog ref. A week later, did the LS/VTEC setup and with bolt-ons and -5 degrees ignition timing, I put down 160 hp to the wheels (with a stock PR3 ECU). That was a fun car to drive... ran consistent 14.1 sec times on street tires with a Mugen PR3 and full interior, on street tires. That's why I'm getting another CRX, but this time doing something totally different

Thats actually a GREAT idea about smoging with one motor and swapping it out for another! Well, mine was done legit. OBDII H22A4 in my 97 Accord done by me.

 

What's the next project Newman? I imagine it's H22 based since that's what all you big players are doing now.

he's probably doing a d16z6 with 200whp...
