vibrations b/w 1-2k rpm
i need some help my fellow preluduhs. i was at the racetrack, goin down the 1320, topped out 3rd at 8k on the tach, shifted to 4th, but incidently, went into 2nd
my ***** shrunk up into my body instantly, time froze, and the tach seemed to wrap round to the 1.
now the car has a ticking noise at idle, im not sure if it was there before
and when i rev it up and the revs fall back down, it putters a lil. when i rev it between 1-2k the engine vibrates a lil. the car doesnt seem to pull anymore. and thats bout it
anybody wanna help me determine what i did? maybe i bent some valves, maybe i threw a rod (probably not since it seems a bit on the norm side), etc. i donno, help me out you guys.

If you threw a rod, you'd have a gapping hole in your block.
You bent some vales and lost some compression.
Most likely exhaust valves.
Take it to a shop, or go and by the tool at Auto Zone, and have a compression check run. That will tell you how bad it is.
If it still runs ok, then you only slightly nicked them. But they're still going to have to be replaced, which means pulling the head.

you have bent valves. does it die when your at the light? like LONE LUDER said do compresion check valve adjustment . that dont work. save some money up get some new valves
bent valves? thats what i was leaning towards but then i started to think of what it could've been. yah, it did die at a light few times but that only happend once.
if i were to change **** out, id only have to change the valves right? not the valve springs, retainers, etc, only the valves. also, is there a tool to get the valve spring/retainers back on after you pop them off? i havent replaced the valves on my car and was wondering if i had all the **** needed to do at home
thanks for all the help you guys

Um. Yeah. You don't just "change out valves."
The cylinder head has to come off of the car, (which requires taking the cams out, the head studs in a certain pattern, etc) and then it's best to go to a machine shop to do the valve seats, and have them assemble the head after it's been torn apart. Taking the valves out require a special tool, putting them in isn't just a "drop in and go" thing either. Especially on a Honda.
You CAN do it yourself, but you need special tools, and a little more than random knowledge like how to change your oil.
How mechanically inclined are you?

i could do all that ****, except for new valve seats and i dont have tools to press the valve springs to get the retainers back on.
