Whatever happened to #009?
So, I sold #009 on June 13, 2002 to some fella from New York. Actually, he lived in the Bronx. Sent him on his way with #009 strapped to a UHaul trailer, davidnyc's contact info and honda-tech's url. Never heard a peep back out of him.
Today, I was lurking on the Corral and came across a post offering free Carfax reports. I send him the VIN, and got this response.

That's it. No further reports. WTF happened to #009? Stolen en route? Taken up there, but never titled? Very odd, no?

i just checked my own carfax report (have had the car for 1.5 years) and it still has the previous owner listed as the last spot... so i guess it does take a while to catch up

carfax is wack, for all of you that believe in carfax, and buy cars on statements from carfax, STOP.
Example #1
My old EG, got stolen, was given salvage title, car was stripped, 2 days after getting the car back on the road, it was involved in an accident, entire front end was gone, and rear right quater panel. Accident was reported to DMV, and insurance. Insurance paid to get it all back together, that was new hood/fenders/bumper/headlights./etc....
on carfax, doesnt show any of it, shows clean title.
Example #2
My friends solara, he rolled it off a cliff, car was salvaged out, reported to insurance, then fixed and put back on the road. Then a year or so later, car was involved in another accident, and claimed as a total loss.
Carfax shows car as clean title and nothing has ever happened to it
Meaning, we can find the car, fix it, and sell it with a clear title.

not to doubt what you are saying 98itR484, but the car fax report on my ITR shows everything, including streets and exact events as to what happend to my car before I got. It is salvaged and I bought it as "rebuilt salvage" title. My car was involved in an accident on LI, ran into a median guardrail, damaging the front, whole left side, underbody, and rear. pretty much all of that shows up on the carfax report. *shrugs*
i dont doubt that everything shows up for you, i totally understand what you are saying. I'm not saying carfax doenst show "anything" im just saying that they arent as trustworthy as people think

only reason i've ever used it is to find out previous owners.. like a prelude i was going to buy (seller claimed to be original owner) was actually bought off an auction from missouri

10% of wholesale value of car, or 5000. whichever is less.
for a integra, you'll probably see about 50 dollars.
