Which would you choose?
To start w/ I know there are several variables to making this choice. I'm just looking for a general idea, maybe some pro's and con's. This is the basics, please base your opinions on the info I give, not question what the variables are. Such as miles, body condition,etc... Just deciding between 2 cars, and i'm at a loss since i've had a hatch and loved it. But i'm considering giving a CRX a shot.
Here is the low down 2 cars:
1. Red 88 CRX SI
2. Blue 90 STD hatch
Wednesday i'm going to look at both and make an offer on one or both. They are both going to be about the same price. My main issue is just on the body styles. I want both but can't obviously have them both.
Which ever I get, i will be running a D16A6 +T25 turbo set up on it.
Just curious what opinions everybody has.For now this will be a daily driver, later possibly a road race/track car. But for now my main source of transportation.
Thanks-Jason

That's a tough call, the rex's are supposed to be the lightest, so if this car will be retired to track duty you may want to think about that, the rex being an SI also has a moonroof which is nice. For daily driver the hatch would probably be better due to back seats & a little more overall space. another plus for the hatches is that it seems the seat moves back more, so for me being relatively tall I like that. It's a tough choice, and honestly I'd probably take the rex, good luck either way

Boy that is ironic I have:
A Red 89 CRX Si, and
a Blue 90 DX Hatch just thought it was funny.
Buy 'em both. The original puchase price on mine were $400 for the CRX, and $100 for the Civic. You aren't paying more than that are you? If you are your getting hosed!

dude, he's not getting hosed if he pays over $400 for a CRX.
i would go with the CRX Si because it already comes with a D16A6, it has all the other little goodies the Si has, is an 88 which is the lightest of the years. Also 88's have no door mounted seatbelts + better rear suspension.
