i have a 95 b18b motor in my car and b4 i bought the car the valves where adjusted and checked nothing was wrong with the motor. but there seems to be a ticking noise in the engine bay since the install. now one i do need to change my timing belt and waterpump(pump is leaking) but the motor still pulls strong. a freind of mine said it might be that the timing is off but it sounds like something is rattling. note its not loud after a couple minutes of the motor warming up(i warm it up every day 10 b4 i go). any ideas of what it could be???? could it be anything other than rod knock??? but if it was rod knock would the motor pull as strong as it does.

is this car allmotor or are you squeezing?

my old setup was a LS in a 92DX hatch...
i had to do valve adjustments all the time...cuz it was stock..
and i was squeezing a 75 shot dry system

you might want to check timing...it might have skipped a tooth..or may have a worn timing belt

oh and if it was a thrown rod...you wouldnt be able to pull or drive that hard..

Honda B-series motors are notorious for loud injector noise...
but the metal end of a screwdriver on the valvecover and the butt end to your ear and try to locate where the ticking is coming from.

I have the same problem, and I was told it was injector o rings. Still haven't gotten it looked at by a professional, prolly next week.

 

its all motor but the thing is i want to squeeze on the bottle just not sure if i should either. thanks for u help guys

 

im pretty sure its the injector noise.
i just got the vavle adjustment done at the dealer and it still has a bit of ticking noise.
i think its a big deal unless it sounds like metal clapping.

 

same problem here, cept in mine, it idles quiet but when you mash on the gas; especially around 2 - 3 rpm's the clicking sound comes clickking. I dont know what the **** is wrong with my car. but in mine, it aint pullin that strong no more tho. it dont even chirp in second gear....
