Default I am new to this forum, I need help desperately LSVTEC 1st generation

I have a 88 Civic Hatch with a 91 LS motor swap, decided to make the b16a Vtec head conversion. installed it, wired it. First with the 91 LS obdo ecu and dist. Car cranks and then shuts down immediately. Changed the dist and ecu to obdo b16a stock. Car cranks and shuts down immediately, No change, everyone tells me it's the ecu or dist, have changed them 3 times and the car still does the same thing. Starts and dies. If the dist and ecu are compatible the car should at least run?? Right? Where do I go from here? Please help??? Anyone?

Thanks for your input, I finally got it started, the plugs were fouled out. Running good, but going to run better as quickly as I get the 1st generation vtec ecu in it and programmed. I am sorry to say, unfortunately you didn't know what you were talking about regarding the ls/vtec. I needed some real help. It was wired properly.

Is the motor a built motor with new internals or did you simply do the proper work to just bolt the VTEC head on it? . When the LS motor was in the car did it burn oil or ever foul the plugs? If so, then the rings are no doubt shot and/or the valve seals are worn. Oil can bascially enter between the rings from the cylinders or through the valves from the head.
You might be looking at a rebuild before even getting to run the motor which is what should be done to an LSVTEC (and most older motors) in the first place.

Thanks for your input, nope the engine didn't burn or use oil. It was a built motor about a year ago, probably has 5000 miles on it since the OH. I had installed 440 injectors in the car because it is turboed. Wanted to make sure I had plenty of fuel in case of detonation. I used the zex plugs that were recommended for a turbo car. The injectors simply had fouled the plugs with too much fuel. No, I have it running now. I really appreciate you responding, I was at my wits end and had tried everything. Only to find it was nothing more than fuel, soaked plugs. Thanks again, Dane..
