Default Safe to temp run a P06 (DX ecu) with a d16z6?

I'm picking up a auto d16z6 this weekend. I'm sending out the p28 to get chipped to manuel. My question is will the d16z6 run ok with the P06 ecu until the p28 comes back? Obviuosly I won't have vtec and a lower rev limit but will the fuel curves be enough for this motor? Otherwise I'll just wait to swap it out until the ecu comes back.

Thanks guys, could find anything in the search on this. I can't be a pioneer.

Thanks don't plan to auto X it like that. And like I said it's only for a week or two at the most why it's being chipped.

Was just curiuos if there were myths or horror stories out there.

I'm running the P06 (DX) right now on my z6. I have no money for a p28/chipped ecu. but mine works fine. funny thing is, it makes the car run rich as hell

yes, you should have no problem. fuel and ignition maps are very similiar. since you're going to be on the low cam anyways reving past 6k rpm is going to be pointless.

btw. P06 can be converted to P28 ECU

Is this commen chipping knowledge. I have a p28 it's a auto so while it's out I'm just going to do the swap and use a p06 tell it comes back in.

Just wanted to make sure the .1 liter bigger wasen't going to make it run lean. Maybe that was a stupid thought. But thanks for the help guys.
