Apexi World Sport Install w/pics and comments.
I installed my Apexi WS Cat-back on my 93 Civic Hatch CX w b18c1 yesterday. First off, I
this thing. After driving around for over a year with my Tanabe RM, my ears love me right now. This exhaust is the quietest system I've heard, all I hear is my motor and vtec is louder than ever and I'm gutted.

Modifications and concerns:
Rear heat shield had to be bent outward to prevent rubbing. My TenzoR short shifter rubs on the piping at certain points but you can't hear it. Other than that, I give this exhaust

LMAO!!!
LMAO!!!
how does the world sport compare to your old tanabe RM?? is it as free flowing as the tanabe RM?? did you notice any performance differences?? i ask all these questions because i got a tanabe rm thats loud as hell on my supercharged car. i wanna get the apexi WS so its quiet...but i am wondering if its gonna make a loss in performance. im not sure if the WS is as free flowing as the RM.
GSRrR: I got mine from RPM Motoring in Encino, CA. for $390 shipped to VA. It took only 2 weeks to arrive.
Dj Villain: Here is a comparison chart for you. The scale is 1-10 with 10 being the worst.
Tanabe vs. Apexi
Loud: 9 2
Performance: 8 5
Clearance: 9 6
Piping quality: 7 8
Results. The tanabe is 7 times louder than the Apexi. The Tanabe gets better HP gains because of it's straight through design compared to the Apexi's chambered design. I think I lost 1-3HP by changing the exhaust which I was more than happy to sacrifice. Would you rather drive around with 1-3 less horses or get numerous exhaust tickets? If you look at the piping comparison, the Tanabe piping was starting to rust. I highly recommend this exhaust for N/A but if you are F/I, it might be too restrictive.

I know three people that had the Apexi WS.. 1 was supercharged the other 2 had nitrous.. All 3 blew out the baffles in muuffler within 6 months, and performance on the SC car sucked (to restrictive).. Though Apexi is a great Reputible Co. I do not recomend the World Sport.. If you want quiet your better off with stock or Type R catback - IMO. I myself have an Apexi Dunk on my car for the past 2 and a half years.. I love it..
Like I said above, I highly recommend a WS exhaust if you are Naturally Aspirated. For Force Inducted motors, a less restrictive exhaust would be better. If I do boost my car in some way wether it be turbo, sc, nos, I will replace the apexi.

This pic is a great illustration of why these things rub. The Tanabe has a "kink" in the B pipe that keeps it off that heat sheild.
I tried bending mine out and it didn't help. I've now got a stainless steel band clamp on it and even that's not perfect. If anyone's gotten their B-pipe fixed at a muffler shop, let us know how much you paid.

94CivicSi= You're absolutely right about the Tanabe b-pipe. That kink is why I never had rubbing problems. It's all gravy though, all I need was a screwdriver and the heat shield was taken care of in no time.
