How to carpet a subwoofer box?
How would you carpet a subwoofer box so that the edges of the connecting carpet dont show? If you just place the 2 carpet edges together with spray adhesive, wont you still see a gap inbetween?
I like to just stretch the crap out of it.
seamless style.
only thing is one whole side is the "seam" so know where you box is going before you do it this way. Like above, paint that side black, or whatever, first, and even the pooie side will look ok.

This is a pretty good technique I found doing this.
Take your carpet and go around like the top, bottom, back and front. No gaps obviously because the carpet is one piece. But you have extra left over for the sides. Take a fresh, brand new razor blade and follow the edge of the sides (making your cut with the middle of the razor, and slide the razor along. It will make a very clean cut. Now attach your side carpeting and again, slide the razor along the edges to cut. I've done this several times and you can't see a seam at all. Just make sure you use plenty of 3M spray adhesive to hold the stuff down especially near the corners, etc.

commonly used technique:
Sort of like the last one where you start by wrapping the large sides of the box (front, back, top, bottom). Next cut slits in the carpet at the corners creating square flaps (like a cardboard box). Add some more glue to the box and to two adjacent sides. Lay one side down on box, then lay another (adjacent) side on top of it. On the flap that's on top cut an arc from one corner of the box, through the stuff that's underneath, to the other corner of the same side. Pull scrap off top, lift top flap and pull scrap from other flap. Press edges together and smooth out the surface. repeat for remaining flaps. take your time when pulling scraps and ensure a clean cut w/sharp blades.
