AEM Cold Air Intake Installion on a 99-00 Honda Civic Si
Hey guys, I am ordering an AEM cold air intake for my car soon, and i was just wondering if i am going to have to take off my front bumper for the installion? Or is it just direct-bolt-on without any touching of other stuff?
You will have to take off the passenger side front wheel and wheel liner, as well as the factory airbox system in its entirety. From there it is quite simple, as you will see. The AEM cai is a great upgrade.
i un did my front bumper just to make it easier to remove the stock air box behind the bumper. there are 7 pop-pins under the hood and 1 phillips screw on each side of the bumper. thats it ...and then you can just slide it forward a little. it doesnt come completely off. I used to have the AEM cold air on mine but i took it off. it's for sale if you wanna buy it from me. its the gray one. email me if you want. vtec villain@aol.com another thing....i would put a rubber piece of tubing around the AEM where it enters the hole under your hood, so when it moves , it wont rub the metal and scratch it all up.
