Question for Newman, Poison, and other h22a owners regarding the swap.
Hey guys, I was wondering when you do the h22a swap in an EG, and have to cut the passeneger side frame rail mount, can it be put back on if you decide to go with a b-series swap later? Also, when cutting it what is used? I heard the Hasport kit requires cutting the whole mount, while HCP only requires cutting a portion off? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

use a die grinder or disk grinder with a cut off wheel, what else would you use, hacksaw... I guess if you reweld it back on it could be re-used, not a good idea since you have a hole where the shift linkage goes also...but you could always weld a piece of sheet metal over the hole...
if your not planning on keeping the h22 in it, don't do it

yes it's possible. the passenger side mount is actually spot welded on and can be taken off, and also spot welded back on, just incase of you wanting to swap.
also another thing, the shifter whole for the rod shifter on B/D series, there is the mounting piece under the chassis that is also spot welded that can be put back on.
The only thing left that will be in the car when a B or D series back in, is the 2x3 hole that is needed to be cut out to feed the cable shifters thru. But you can also seal this up as well if you wish.
