Default Just polished my valve cover...now what?

Hey guys, I just polished my valve cover, but it seems if I touch it, it smear/get dirty. Is there any type of protective wax I can use to prevent this? I used some aluminum polish called "Best aluminum polish," and honestly...it really is the best alminum polish! Any suggestions?

well your best bet is to use Mothers Polish Cream.

It works!!!

but the smear will always be there if you touch it, thats a given.

Is it hard to maintain a polished vlave cover? I'm thinking about doing this, but if it's going to look worse than stock as soon as a little oil or prints get on it, FAGETA 'BOUT IT!

I sanded it going gradually from 120 grit to 1200, then polished it.

You just have to keep sanding and sanding Move on to the next grit when all the scratches from your previous grit are out. I would say it takes a nice chunk out of your day.
