Lately I have been noticing some slipage in 1st gear. My car currently has 87,000 miles on it. It tends to slip when its not fully engaged, like going up my driveway, the car will jump (my tires are new and good) Is this my clutch? Also when I replace my clutch do i also replace the flywheel?

Its my guess that its going.. Sounds like it.. you dont need to replace your flywheel.. just get the flywheel resurfaced..

 

I agree - 87k on the clutch - probably time to replace.
And no, you don't need to replace the flywheel, unless you want to, and it IS a good idea to resurface the flywheel, but not necessary, unless you see warpage, scoring, pitting, etc.

 

Hey try this, slip it in 5th and let go of the clutch if your car is still running and it doesn't stall out then your clutch is going, that's what i did with mines and mines didn't stall out, a week later my clutch blew. And if it doesn't and it's comming out of gear you should get your clutch replaced and if you like try buying a new flywheel i like the act 7lb fly wheel, hehe.

 

Wouldnt that damage your tranny?
