maintenance required light.
hey, my friends looking at 2 preludes (sh) a 99 and a 2000. both of them have the maintenace light on but its showing green. when we asked the guy he said green meant everything was ok, but if the light turns red that means somethings wrong. is this how preludes are suposed to be or is he bullshitting. thanks
The Light is always on. It changes color depending on mileage, not when something is wrong. It turns from green to orange then to red every 7,500 miles i believe. Its just hondas way of getting you to their dealerships for minor/major services. Green means its not time to go get service yet. Mine is red right now cuz i just hit 67,500 miles.

What he said.
And I think its a good system. Seems to me like its an asserance mechanism to keep all preludes well maintained even by the STUPIDEST of people. i.e. WOMEN

Yeah it should be green and it will turn to orange or red whatever color it is at miles when they think you should get serviced. Mine came on at 30,000 and 36,100 which is right after your warranty is up. Dont take it in unless you think something is wrong. All you have to do is push in the little button thing next to it with your key or something and it will turn back to green.
