Default AEM cai vs. AEM V2

I want to know what the main diffeences are. I have a v1 o my 2000 Si right now, and i heard that the v2 puts out as much as 16whp, that seems somewhat insane to me. I want to know once and for all how much better the V2 is over my V1. Dyno results posted my AEM look kinda wea to me, so if anyone has any other souces please post em up.

They decided not to make the V2 AEM CAI for the Type-R because there wasn't any significant gain over the original 3" inch AEM CAI. I don't know what that tells you... but I wouldn't spend a grip load for an intake system. The original AEM works fine.

As for the intake giving the Si 16wHP... umm... I don't know about that. That's a shitload of power gains for just an intake.

AEM even goes as far as to claim that the V2 gives a "mild supercharging effect".. now is that even possible for just an intake?

I havent seen that stated on their page but they are probably refering to the tapered design. Big to smaller diameter piping makes more velocity hence the "effect" of a sc. I think that's just marketing department trying to make the product sound cool.

stick with the og AEM cold air intake, my friend bought one for his car and told me that he could feel a LITTLE difference but not enough to justify spending 300 bucks on an intake, he said he should have just kept his original AEM CAI. peace
