Default Will it cost this much????

Ok heres the deal. Im looking to swap the motor in my 93 dx coupe and I was looking at either a B18b or a gsr motor. Now I know you can get the gsr motor for about $3500.00 and my friend claims by the time I put it in and all that extra stuff that I need it will cost me at least $5000.00 is this true??? And he also claimed that the B18b would cost me in the end about $3500.00 can anyone offer some insight???

If your in Burlington drive up to Osaka and pick out an engine. You'll save at least $300 in shipping charges. You can get a B18C for $2700 and you get too pick it out. You will be much happier with the Vtec engine. Trust me, I've had the non-vtec and it does not compare. I'm down by Albany and I do swaps for a reasonable price. IM me if your interested. I usually drive up to Osaka to pick up engines for swaps I do.

There is cost that add-up during a swap but not to the tune of 1500 dollars.

1500$ hell no!
get a full swap from a REPUTABLE shop like hmotorsonline or jdmhondaparts and you wont need anything else except fluids, some wiring, and time.

depends if your payin someone to do it for you. But a b18c1 into an EG swap is fairly uncomplicated. depending on the year of the motor you might need a OBD1 adapter, and a couple of small things.like spindle nuts, tranny oil, coolant and small random stuff like extra vacume hose. you can do it for under 100 bux.

I'd recommend at least allowing $500 for parts.

Water pump, oil pump, timing belt, gaskets etc.

Even though these motors are 'low mileage', they've still been sitting in a junkyard for years.

It's a relatively cheap insurance to be sure you've got a good motor.

BTW, Tolowhb..didn't you used to have a light blue EF with WW kit on it? I remember you from the EZBoard forum
