cable 5spd speed sensor broken

Default cable 5spd speed sensor broken

Dosen anyone know how hard it is to change this, I dont have a speedo and its getting on my nerves, it was already broken off when I bought the tranny . Dose the tranny have to be opened up?tia

I think you gotta take apart the tranny. Do a search, there was a thread about this like 2 weeks ago.

Do you have a JDM SiR B16 in your car? That motor has an electric Speed Sensor mounted on the tranny. The EF's have the speed sensor up in the dash and a mech. speedo cable from the trans, driving it. Normally, if you swap in the JDM motor, you unbolt the electric sensor from the trans and hook up your mech cable to the drive fitting that remains on the trans......ONLY REMOVE THE SENSOR-- NOT THE WHOLE DRIVE FROM THE TRANS.. if you do that, the pinion inside the trans will fall off inside and you will have to disasemble the whole transmission...
