Warrantys????
in order for your warranty to not cover a repair it must be proved by the dealer that the modification you made caused the condition.
If you blow your motor with nitrous but your sunroof stops working, the dealer still has to cover the sunroof.

When I got my car, they sales person told me this "We cant provide any after market modifications, but if you buy after-market parts and then something goes wrong up the stock parts back on" So I would just do the basics like I/H/E because of the reason you can always put the stock parts back on, and not really have a problem. Then after your warranty go all out
Some dealers may be understanding and support you in this - simple bolt-ons are not going to adversely affect the longevity of your vehicle. But then again some dealers will tell you they cant warranty a broken headlamp because you have "racing parts" or some BS.
Several WRX owners are getting denied warranty claims for busted transmissions and blown motors due to clear abuse.

I am typing this message to let you guys know that all dealerships are not

I work as an Acura service advisor at the local dealer. W e had a 00 gs-r driven in
and the kid was saying that he needed some new wheels that there were problems with the originals. QWe checked them over and sure enough it looked like someone
had tried to clean them with a scoth-bright pad, Sorry kid new wheels could be your responsibility.
He is driving off the lot and his M.I.L. comes on(check engine light).
He turns around and we check the vehicle in again, this time his dad comes and
picks him up because we are running short on time.
He lives about 1.0 hour away. We check the light and it is a mis-fire, we pull the
plugs and find they are 1-split fires, and 2-the #4 plug has been clobered and
the ground is bent into the plug....
We got authorization from his mom to do the tear down and inspect. We found the
#4 piston had a broken ring land, and the head was beat up inside the chamber
where the metal had been knocked around for a while. There is a hole in the factory intake for a nos nozzle, the bottle brackets were in the trunk, and the
air/fuel ratio guage was on the a-pillar.
Our district service manager covered a new engine, Why you ask with all the proof
to send them down the road.
1-he said he has been to couort for this before and Acura always wins but you never see the client again.
2-It is not worth it.
Anyway, stroy unfolded that the parents were split up and the mom bought the
gs-r for her but was trying to be nice to her son and after he turned 16 she let him
drive the vehicle.
I can tell you this that mother cryed over the phone when we told her that Acura was going to pay for it all. She also said it may be a while before she lets her son
drive it again.
Sorry for the length, I just wanted to prove that sometimes the dealerships will try
and help you. But it is up to the management there.
Anyway

Hey LS60-1 here in Austin, Howdy Honda puts AEM CAI's on and full aftermarket exhausts, too. They have the systems prominently displayed on the walls in their parts dept. I think its up to the dealership, and many are into the aftermarket to make money.
that is correct about Howdy Honda- but if you go to David McDavid Acura & buy a type s they will try to sell you comptech parts & say if you buy anyother brand your warrenty is voided- it really goes back to management as stated above.
I have rounds with them (McDavid) about stupid stuff, but just here recently, they replaced my whole block due to a spun rod bearing that damaged the crank
They knew I had Hondata and know that I race the crap out of it, but it seemed to be a part that just happened to malfunction
When I brought it in, they swore up and down the walls that I had mis-shifted or something, and I had to agree to pay for break-down if that was the case, but I knew I was in the right, so Isaid do it, and they covered it once they got in there

Do you ever go to SASCA? The Alamodome events are awesome, and ConeKiller (white 02 civic Si) is always there.

True. My brother once went to the dealer and told them he was gonna trade his car for the Evo VIII and dealer won't even let him test drive it. How the hell are you suppose to know if this car is what you expect or not?
