my boy got a sohc vtec engine, d16, in a crx. he wants to wire vtec to a tach with a shift light. how, and where do we wire it to? Also, how much wiring would we need to do this? We would really apprepciate it if everyone would tell us almost exactly how to do it. PPPLLLEEEAAASSSEEE HHHEEELLLPPP UUUSSS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Since I do not know the exact year and model of your car I can not tell you exactly what color wire to splice into, But all you have to do is connect a little led light bulb from radio shack up to the VTEC solinoid wire that plugs into the computer underneath the carpet on the passanger side floor. Its easy Find out what color wire it is them splice it into that one. Solder and use heat shrink tubing over connections so nothing shorts out!

are you trying to say that you want the tach light to come on every time vtec is engaged? if so, that will be f@cking annoying.

he wants to hook it up to the shift light because it acts as a cheap vtec controller. on the aftermarket tach you can set the rpms when the shift light comes on. set it to say 5500 rpm and connect the vtec wires to the light, and presto, when you hit 5500 rpm vtec kicks in.

you'll have to give the specifics on the car to be able to give exact answers

not to be a DCK or anything but have you tried a ARCHIVE SEARCH... or looked on the Google... you would need a msd thing.. that use's RPM pills.. the old way when ppl had the b16a/b18c's in there car ..that was running the 90-93 ls Ecu...

actually all you would hafta do is splice the positive wire going into the shift light , and run it to vtec solenoid, when the light is supposed to turn on it will just send signal to vtec solenoid to turn on, if your smart youd disconnect the shift light so you dont hafta worry bout it flashing in your eyes everytime you hit vtec
