Civic running bad!!!
A friend of mine has a 89 Civic Si that is running bad. With the car out of gear, the motor won't rev past 4500-5000rpms. It just started popping and won't rev any higher. The car seems to have the power that it should down low in the rpms, but from 3500rpms and up it is slow as hell. The car will barely maintain 65mph on the highway. What do ya'll think?
The ecu is only flashing the coolant temp sensor but that was flashing since before this problem happened. Anyone else have any ideas? Maybe a bad coil or something.

Fix the coolant sensor problem first. It may be telling the ECU the engine is colder than it is, resulting in an over-rich fuel condition. This would explain the high rpm bogging.
