Maaco paint job
I have a championship white R that needs to be paintly pretty badly. I dont have too much money at this time but I cant stand looking at my car the way it is anymore. I was thinking of getting a cheap paint job from maaco. I know they have like 7-8 different grades all oh which have different quality and cost. I was thinking of getting a mid grade paint job for around $500 or so. I know this wont last too long but has anyone else had good/bad experiences with Maaco? I just want the paint to last 2 years until I have money to pay for a real quality paint job. I would also wash and wax my car on a regular basis to keep the the paint in the best condition as possible. Anyone who has experienced Maaco, please let me know how it came out. Thanks!

it depends on the individual. Like my beater, I wouldn't mind painting it at maaco but some people just want new paint. I mean maybe he autocrosses the car and doesn't really care for bling bling paint.
you also have to kinda scope out the type of people that are working there..if they seem shady, might wanna find a new maaco..cause the quality of the job really depends on the location.

Every Maaco is different. Its hit or miss.
I would say if you are going there, ask them about the facilities, and try to see some cars they have just done.

I would just wait two years to get a more expensive paint job and save the money you would have spend at Macco.

I personally dont think maaco is bad. I believe the only reason why they recieve bad names is because of there taping on edges. I think if you take your time covering up what is need around the walls to windows and taking out rubbers around the windows/2 strip on top of your car, cover key holes, etc. I think it will turn out fine. Just do the basic hand sanding and bondo up minor dents(if needed) and water sanding, it will come out great. I personally think they just use machine to sand down the gloss/paint and then sprayed. Just take care of the paint such as keep it in car garages, shades, car cover or wax it often. But it all really depends on the person who paints your car. If they have of a lot cars to paint, good luck cause their in a hurry to paint it and go on to the next. Thats why when I took mine, I took it to a place where it didnt have much business so they can actually take there time on my car, where as to maaco is a popular shop and recieve lots of cars, they tend to rush it more, but thats just what I think. What you pay is what you get, you can't compare a special $225 from maaco to a 1000+ paint job. Just my 2cent!!!!
