would a guitar case (34"x14"x4.5") fit anywhere in there? it fits layed across the back seat of my civic. if it wouldn't fit in the trunk, could i maybe move the seats forward a few inches and put it in between the seat and the wall back there?

 

I would imagine that might well fit in the trunk. The only problem I can see with putting it behind the two seats is that the glove box sticks out in the middle of the area you're talking about. Essentially you'd have to fit it behind one of the two seats to make it work. Or put in the passenger footwell area if you didn't have someone else in the car.

Take the guitar to a dealer and ask them to pop the trunk for you.

 

i don't think there is enough space to fit behind the seat, and/or in the trunk. you might have to just place it in the passenger seat. i don't play the guitar, but my friend is in a band, and his case is huge (it's an acoustic guitar, not electric).

 

hard case - no.
soft case - yes with no passenger.

 

My bass fits in the trunk in a soft case and the hard case is within an inch of fitting. My hard case is just over 4 feet long so a 34" case should fit easily. You can't put it behind the seat because of the center console. Actually you may be able to move the passenger seat all the way forward and fit it behind the seat vertically, this would be a top down option only though. I'll have to see if that works.
