I got a problem, its OBD1.. and my crx is OBD0. Which route is easier, converting it back to OBD0 or changing it to OBD1? And how would i do it?

I thought so too, but when i went to pick up my motor they told me they got me an OBD1 motor. Plus the plugs look different.

Is there a such thing as an OBD1 ZC motor?

It has a 1 wire O2 sensor. I seem to be answering my own questions here... D'0H!

I would convert it to OBDI since OBDI responds to mods better than nonOBD/OBDII.

Hmmm....how does obd1 respond "better" than obd0/obd2

I mean can you actually come up with some sort of source you can cite, other than maybe the o2 sensor being more accurate on obd1 cars because it's heated? I hear from people all the time about how obd1 is so much better than obd0 as far as modding goes, and as someone that understands both FI and honda ECUs, this doesn't make too much sense.

you can run any number of ECUs. You can run a p28 with the vtec x-over set above the rev limit, you can run a p06, you can run an obd1 pr4, you can run a p74, you can run a p75, realisticly you CAN run any obd1 ecu. I'd suggest either a p28 modded as described, or pr4/p74/p75 modded to mimic the fuel maps from an obd0 pm7.

did your motor not come w/ an exhaust manifold? BTW, if you have the time & inclination i would suggest going to obd1 b/c once that's done you will have an easier time upgrading motors later if you need to + your ecu will give you more insight as to what's wrong if you ever have troubles. just my $.02

There's no real advantage to converting over to obd1 in my opinion in this case. There's no HP gain in the process. It doesn't make sense to convert the car over to obd1 then to put pm7 or pg7 maps in a p06. I'd just convert the ZC to obd0.

I have the same motor in my car it was an OBD1 motor and my friend's shop converted the motor back to OBD0. The motor was from an EG, I think it pulls hard, but the only thing I can sompare it to is my friends ZC in an HF. But n.e ways good motor.

Me too. Normally I always promote OBD-I, but I wouldn't even know which ECU to use, OBD-O is very easy to set up.

I would say OBD-0, but if you could locate the ECU for that engine I would go with OBD-1. Do you have an OBD-0 Si distributor to put on there? I'm curious if it would bolt right on or if it needs to be modded like the OBD-0 distributor do when used on a Z6 head for mini-me's.

BTW - I like that intake manifold! Looks nice!

if you go obd0, you'll at least need a obd0 zc distributor and cam angle sensor, let me know if you need either, as i have both for sale

New battery because he set it on the concrete? What are you smoking? Maybe if it sat there for a few days or a week or something, but I remember last time I changed my tranny setting it on the ground and forgetting about it for almost a week with no ill effects.

On top of that, you don't see the bottom of the battery, it could be sitting on a chunk of a 2x4 or 2x6 or something.

The whole battery on the concrete (sp) is a myth now. This started because 50-70 years ago batteries were made out of porcelin (sp) when they would be set down the porcelin cases would crack and the battery acid would leak out. As batteries started to be made out of plastic this problemhas stopped. The thing is everybody has been told that the batteries will go bad. This is a myth that has been passed down for the last 50 years.
