Default EF for $3k or less-possible?

Well, I finally found a job to fund a car. Since I wanna stay loyal, I'm looking at an EF since my budget is about $3k. Would it be possible to find an EF in good condition? I will probably have more than 3k, but I wanna stick with $3k or less so I can pay for insurance, repairs, etc. Am I crazy or would it be possible to find an EF uner $3k???

sure can, you can find a clean si for that much if you look around. the key is to be patient while looking cause a better deal will always come along (usually after you buy). goodluck in your search.

Not only is it possible.... I think you'd be getting screwed if you pay any more.

Find one that's completely stock, that way you have a better chance of getting one that hasn't had the crap beaten out of it.

Both my EF's combined only cost $1100. I agree with the above statement.

I just bought a 90 civic hatch for $1k. Lowered, 16" Motegi M-12's, big brake kit, intake and 2" exhaust. Now all I have to do is swap the fuel pump to get it home.

The good buys are out there, just have to know people that know people.

P.S.
My B18B swap is already on the way

Good luck on your hunt

You guys have to take location into consideration. Sure you guys in the northwest might be able to find cheap cars. . .but here in SoCal. . it's a different story. I've been searching for 3 solid months to find a stock white Crx Si for under 3k.

Like someone above mentioned. . .just have patience. Don't rush into something you don't want. Keep looking. You'll find it. ..eventually. lol

a coworker of mine just bought a 91 crx si for 1400; i helped her talk the guy down. the interior is soooo clean- i almost bought it. it looks liek the guy kept plastic over the interior for the last 12 years. the motor is still pretty strong & it only has 124,xxx miles on it. just look & be patient & you'll find one-gl

these prices arent realistic if your in CALI. Unless you know someone its pretty hard to find a clean CRX or HB cheap. You'll end up in a bidding war 90% of the time.

Damn Northewest is still spendy if you live near the big cities. I have saw a few nice CRX Si still going for 3 to 4 grand.

I bought my CRX Si for $1800. Ran fine, only needed about $200 in smog repair parts (O2 sensor, cat convertor).

bought my rex for $500. saw the car ín a neighborhood, put a note on the window, got a call that night. drove it home the next day. nice yellow too. place very high in the autox the next day and street tires and 200k miles and my first ever autox. gotta luv the crx. lower times than all but two itr's and all the new celica's.
