Default Side mouldings

How easy are the side door mouldings and fender mouldings to remove and put back on.. i want to get them painted.. but i've heard different things about how they are attached to the door... like one person said that its a chemical the glue it to the door with... and another said its this flexible metal tab behind the door panel that holds it in.. and you have to replace it if you remove it... can someone shed some light on this?

thanx

Yeah I was thinking about the same thing. It looks a lot cleaner without them. Plus they dont really do much for door dings...
Anyways to answer your question, if you remove them, you will have little holes that you will have to seal. Just like when you remove the spoiler you have to fill in those holes too... It really is a pain when you think about it...
I beleive that it is little bendable metal clips that you can take off....
If I am wrong on this please someone correct me...

actually the clips are plastic and 9 times outta 10 they will break if you pull the moldings off.

I think they do A LOT to prevent door dings. I have 98 GSR with No dings whatsoever. I thought about removing them too. If you look at the moldings, they really stick out the most outward catching most irresponsible doors except "high" SUVs. My Altima has several dings due to poor placement of the moldings. The upper part of the doors is what sticks out most.
To answer the post....for my 3rd gen Accord (RIP) back then, the moldings are held by clips. No adhesive on them. It is probably the same for the Integra.

if you just want to remove them to paint a decent shop can mask it well enough not to get any overspray anywhere a do a good job...if you insist on removing them...pull your door panels and rear 3/4 panels off...its a clip shaped like a greater than sign (&gt if you pinch the fat end they come out and totally removable...most people try to yank em...they break like that...get from behind..its easier in the end...
