Ok, I had my front end installed at my friends shop last August. This was his first one he ever did. Im in Nj so you don't come across to many anyway. Here's the thing. I made sure he painted and installed everything. The only thing he didn't do was cut off my USDM radiator support and weld on the new one, which someone else did. With the kit I bought, which is all OEM sheet metal parts except for the front lip. The lip is a Top Fuel lip. When i picked up the car after 4 months at the shop the lip was not yet painted. No big deal. I went a few days later and it was done. Well about two weeks after i met up with R-Speed and we went for a sick drive in the hills. When i got home I noticed what looked like chips on the lip. I let it go. Now that winter is over the paint looks as if it's being stripped off. There's no primer underneath the top coat at all. Over it looks like total ****. Should the body shop re-paint it for free? I think they should. I haven't asked them if they will yet before i get some opinion. They are aware of the problem. The paint on the bumper looks the same as the day I picked it up. They just did a really shitty job by not priming the damn Lip. Sorry for all this babbling bullshit but I wanted to make sure I included everything.
On the same note.. Whats everyone's opinion on the stock JDM front bumper as opposed to the mugen one?

you should ask them to primer and paint you lip with the flex paint so it can bend ...and not spider crack and chip on you.. my whole wing west lip kit was painted that way and when i rolled my car the paint was still good......... go to do it right
he shouldve used the jdm radiator/bumper support.
but anyway... chips are normal. it because the car sits low... and rocks tend to chip the paint. now.. if its chippin off like crazy... then take it back to the shop and let them know about the problem. it could be that they didnt prep it right.

What do you mean he should have used the JDM bumber support? He did. As far as the paint chips go, they're not chips. Being the lip was not primed, the paint just comes off with a little force. and underneath is white from the fiberglass. When i run my hands across it its totally smooth, no rough spots or indentations.

waite let me clarify something. When i said the only thing he didnt do was cut off the USDM radiaotr support, what I meant was someone else did it. I was implying he did all the work on my conversion. sorry for confusion.
There is a way to custom mount the USDM radiator support with the JDM front end, somoeone in the R forum recently posted this which I will be doing at the same time i resolve this lip issue.
