Default oil on plugs seat

I have a 94 honda accord and when I change the number 2 plugs yesterday I noticed alot of oil where the plug seats. The oil is not where the plugs burn the fuel. The tips of the plugs are in excellent condition very white with no fouling. Where is this oil coming from? Thanks

the oil is coming from the spark plug hole grommets that sit on the underside of the valve cover.chances are, you have one that's cracked/worn.have all 4 changed out along with the valve cover gasket.

He's right. also check your PCV valve. It's an easy check, and if its broken, it'll cause oil to shoot right thru the seals.

doh! i totally forgot about the pcv. Somethin else to take into consideration....you stated that your spark plug electrodes are "very white". that indicates a lean burning condition in your combustion chamber. Have your fuel system checked. when's the last time you've had your fuel filter/pump changed?also, check your ignition timing to see if it's not too advanced.
