my speed sensor went out a few months ago in my 1990 accord -- i just put in a new one and my speedometer is working now, but my cruise control isn't. The light on the dash still comes on when I hit the button on the steering wheel, but it doesn't lock in the speed or accelerate, etc... do I need to reset something or did something get screwed up from driving with a dead speed sensor? any insight would be helpful, thanks.

 

check the vac. hoses,you might have knocked one off

 

k-- i checked the hoses and just in case unhooked my battery for a while (to reset the ECU -- right?) and still no cruise control... does the ECU even control the cruise control or is it purely analog with that big funky vacuum controled deally? any help would be great -- Thanks again...

 

bump this one up since I'm in the same boat, I'll be double checking the vacuum lines but I don't remember messing with too many when I replaced the VSS
