how come on my 5 gen sh I hav to shift out of 1st gear early?
I have a 98 sh and I have to shift out of first gear at 6500 rpm or else the governer gets angry? Why is this and is it easy or intelligent to get rid of?
preludes have some kind of sensor where you cant rev past around 6500 in neutral. I wonder if whatever sensor it uses to sense if your in gear is messed up... Just a theory?

you cant hit vtec when cold, its to prevent you from doing damage to your car, i hope you dont rev it up first thing in the morning, or get on it when u first start it..very bad..peace
if theres a problem..such as your car isnt properly warmed up, or your getting a CEL your ECU will NOT let you hit vtec and will rev limit you to 6500rpms..its really not that hard..sheesh
well...thats what i was trying to say.. but no one seems to listen to me unless i use capital letters a lot like CEL..or..NOT.. or ECU. haha just playin. preluderacer knows what he's talking about.

manual says this and that... however when u start to put on a lil bit of mods on your car, it changes whatever the lil manual says... with just i/h/e, i can change from 1 to 2 at 40 mph, etc... the guys are right, you can't hit vtec, or even go near redline immediatly after starting your engines, but give it a lil time for it to warm up and you'll be able to see hte needle fly up to redline and hear the vtec... if your engine is warmed up and u still can't hit redline in first gear, then YOU DO HAVE A PROBLEM With your engine...
