ZC alternator belt problem
I tried to change the alternator belt on my DOHC ZC but it was too long. I bought a Honda belt for my car, 89 CRX Si part #31100-pm5-305. I didn't have enough room on the bracket to tighten it. It just hung loose. Any ideas? Could the belt I bought be in the wrong package? Anyone else have any experience with this?
i just got an alternator belt from checker auto parts for a 91 crx si and it fit just fine on my zc. sounds like maybe it was packaged wrong. as far as i know any crx si belt should work on your ZC.
I bought another belt, this one from Advance Auto Parts. Same thing, too long. They had a couple more belts that could fit. I tried the smaller one but it was too small. Anyone else ever hear of this problem? The bracket doesn't give enough room for proper adjustment. I have no clue. The belt is a NAPA belt so I guess I'll just go to NAPA tomorrow. It just seems odd.
The belt I have is for an 89 teg. The part number is the same as a teg belt, 25030280. The crx belt part number is 25030300. I guess the 300 has to do with the length of the belt. So if anyone else runs into this problem, try an 89 teg belt.
