Do you have to Take out the head to put in better valve springs and retainer or can you do it without take out the head from the car. What about valves d you have to take the head of

 

to change valves u have to take the whole head off... to change springs/retainers i dont think u HAVE 2 but whenever people change them they are ussually doing more work as well so the head is off

 

Snap-On makes a tool that keeps the valves in and the muscle car guys used to squirt compressed air in from the spark plug hole to keep valves in,
which still works BTW.

 

nope..just use the trick bps says. it'll keep the valves from falling out and then you can take the cams and followoers off undo the retainer clips and change retainers and springs..might as well do the valve seals while your there too.

 

Piston needs to be @ TDC, BTW.
