Default Mugen?? whats your opinion on Mugen Parts?

I was wondering what you guys thought of MUGEN.. I just bought everything I could from MUGEN, only thing I am missing is the seats and mugen header.. I hear people say its overpriced and such.. I think its worth as far a craftmanship.

TOTAL CRAP!!!

Just kidding! I bought all the performance stuff, but none of the cosmetic stuff. If I had a winter beater, I would probably get the body kit and 17" Mirrorface MF10s.

I still have to install my Mugen suspension and Type S strut tower brace, but the rest of my mods are in my signature.

Yeah, I bought all that stuff in the span of about 2 months!

My name is Jim and I am an addict!

Ok im getting off topic but hear me out...

I think the whole JDM craze is stupid as **** to be perfectly honest with everyone out there. Dont get me wrong, i like JDM because it is clean and not all gaudy looking but cmon now... Take for example my friend who has gotten the JDM bug... first it started with the JDM ITR conversion on his integra. He got the mugen knock off front end too as well as hood. Now the ****** is going ALL jdm with mugen this and mugen that, can you say around $8000 in parts? He is selling the mugen replica front end because it doesnt have a mugen badge and is paying 1400 for a mugen bumper thats the exact same as the one he has now, wait it has a badge, my bad. People like this are as bad as ricers in my honest to god opinion. We all make fun of people that pay for big ugly *** body kits and other goodies that dont do **** for a cars performance, but then we have people paying 500 bucks for a JDM gauge cluster. Who the **** wants to read how fast they are going in km/hr then explain to a cop "sorry i dont have mph" when they get pulled over for speeding? Who the **** wants to drive around a RHD car as a daily driver when in the US we drive on the right side of the road?

Anyways here is my answer to your question. Mugen is a top quality product, but i wouldnt pay the amount they ask for certain things. You are a label ***** if you just went out and bought everything you could think of because it has the name MUGEN on it. You are as bad as those stupid little 8th grade girls or highschoolers and Abercrombie and Fitch.

I just want to leave you with these last words before you jump on the newest bandwagon... Speed NEVER goes out of style

And yes i am aware that mugen sells performance parts, but they also sell a bunch of **** that is overpriced that does just as much as any APC product on the market. For example...

Go here and tell me how the **** a 23 piece tool kit is worth $699

Generally Mugen is probably one of the best BOLT-ON performance parts that you can buy for any Honda. But the thing is, they're bolt-on parts. They will not be the absolute best, but you know they'll work, and work well. Plus with the Mugen you're paying an extra $200 for the name, and it seems like it's carried onto their tools.

Some people like show and some people like speed. Not everyone can say hey..I got Mugen. Some people for the money for it some don't...some people buy it some won't. Oh well Mugen seems to be doing pretty good financially so I'm not too worried over people who don'tlike their stuff. Jdm... Fake knock off stuff

Ok, the tool kit is bogus, but those MF-10's are the shiznit. Everybody hates on the parts because of the cost but if I can afford it, yeah it's gonna say Mugen on it. Ok yeah, when I go out shopping I could buy some Wrangler's and Avias but I prefer Tommy and Nike gear, it's the same deal, I like it and I've got the cash so... I'd rather be called a JDM ***** from buying Spoon, Jun and Mugen equipment than skimp and have some cheap-*** Ractive **** on my car just to save a buck or two.

No offense dude, but as far as your original question is concerned, if you're not soliciting opinions before making a decision on what to purchase, as in you've already bought all that Mugen ****, then what's the point in asking what we think, it doesn't really matter now, does it? It shouldn't. Unless that IS the real reason why you bought it in the 1st place, not for the quality/workmanship/enginering in the equipment, but just to get some props, in which case I'm not really feeling you dude.

I would probably never buy anything Mugen, because in all reality the cost and benefit of a product from them is likely to be no better or worse than something you can find cheaper. I try not to pay for a name...pay for function.

So are you saying that Mugen products don't function? Mugen may cost more, but at least you know that regardless you're getting a quality product. Unlike DC Sports and some other companies out there.

Then you're way off dude. Mugen products perform as advertised, just do a search and you'll find the exhaust and/or header combo dynos to prove it; unlike that huge 3 hp increase the DC Sports header offers. Hell, the design for the stock exhaust on the S2000 was licensed to Honda for it's use by Mugen, is that enough function for you? The coilover suspension is touted as being the best mix between track and street that you can get for a 5th gen, their tuned ECUs for other Hondas are rated above Spoon's and Mugen is one of the very, very few companies that actually do wind tunnel testing on their bodykits to ensure that they do what they're supposed to, increase downforce at high speeds and reduce the drag coefficient, not just look sweet.

Don't knock it just because it's expensive dude, I firmly believe that you do get what you pay for.

No dynos (butt-dynos aside), but structurally after 10 months of abuse and foul weather my exhaust still looks damn near brand new with just some mild rinsing/wiping and truly sounds like no other Lude exhaust I've ever heard.

This is my favorite argument!

I think I read it at least once a month!

I never get tired of the hearing the same responses over and over!

I think I'm going to change my standard response and make it short and sweet:

"I prefer Mugen parts for my Prelude. I really have no opinion on what you do with your car. I'll respect your choices and you will respect mine."

uhh... A|X is not top quality... ARMANI is on the level of versace, gucci, d&g, etc... but A|X is the lowest end of armani... for example, goes in this order... CHAPSOLO SPORT:RALPH LAUREN for armani, its A|X:georgio:Armani.... oK? so i dont think a $80 shirt from ax and a $500 shirt from versace are on the same level...

though my reply has nothing to do with mugen, i wanted to clear this up... hahahahaha... imo, mugen is overrated, sure it prolly makes a tad bit more hp, but for the price, not worth it... exahust system supppsoed to be around 1g right? i got aem cai, dc header, and greddy evo for under under 1 g...

BTW: FINALFLASH, u live in VA??? i hope u dont' drive around with those tails daily... u must know as i do that va cops are straight up bitches about that kind of ****, esp. exhaust and those clear bumper lights! hahaha... drive safe playa~

first off, thats not a mugen spoiler for a lude, its for a crx.. next: mike didnt say that mugen didnt function, he said that for his money, hed rather get 1 greddy header and 1 greddy exhaust instead of 1 mugen exhaust. for the money, the greddy **** is a better value, but if you want the very best, then you gotta pay.
2dflamedlude: you have been around forever, like you dont friggin know about mugen...do you really think anyone believes that you spent all that cash on a brand you didnt know about??? i dont think so. if you want attention, then show up at a ludeconduct meet with your car...
