Prelude tranny question
Hey people, im driving a 2000 Accord and im planning on an H22a engine swap with the prelude tranny to get the closer gear ratio. My question is when ya'll shift how far down do your RPMs drop? I read the other day that the s2k only drops to around 6000+ rpm when shifting so i decided to check out my f23's tranny and when it dropped to about 3000 rpm i wanted to cry or something. Any information is much appreciated, thanks.
i have a h22a1 , if shift at redline which is around 7400 i think , i stay in vtec, my revs don't fall below 5000 it prob around 5500, though i never payed that much attention. The idea of the gearing is so that when you shift that you stay where your car makes peak power. SO in the h22a1 its peak power output is 5-6800 rpm, so if you shift at redline you fall back into peak power to keep the car acceleratiing. so with your accord its setup the way it is for a reason.
