Is it just me or is everyone and their grandmothers selling their cars claiming to be on the fast and the furious, and adding like 1000 bucks just for that reason? been seein em all over ebay. Just curious if anyone else has seen em.

it is not that they are trying to say that their car was in the movie, but rather that their car is the "type" of car that was in the fast and the furious.

 

they think that just because thier cars was supposedly in the movie , they can crank the price up by thousands of dollars! what a crock of **** man.

 

haha...my 89 accord with 130k is pretty furious...kinda fast(next to a dx civic)...selling for 10gs...its a steal...

 

the supra actually did sell on ebay and it was th one from the movie. it was sold by the guy who owned it, craig lieberman. if you noticed his email on the auction was clieberman@emapusa.com. emap is the publication company that puts out super street. and that car really was capable of 10s and pulls in like 1000 bux minimum for show appearences. so that car was legit. i just dont know if it was worth the $121,000 it sold for.

 

My friend has a car from the movie even thought it was on the movie for a split second.

but i do know a guy that had a convertable accord station wagon that was on Fast and furious that i met at the track

did you ever see any of the cars used upclose??? shitty paint ( and im not talking about the dummy ones, talking about the "hero" cars) and half *** work.. i almost cried when i saw the XXX:2 one. and the supra/s2000 from the 2nd fatf were only resprays of the dummy cars from the first one...

sport compact car did a test of the cars in f&f2 right around the time the movie was released, and they said that all of the cars were in a bad state of disrepair, needing general maintenence and tuning, etc.. basically that the cars in the movie were POS's that were made to look fast in the movie, but were not in real life.

Other than a couple select cars, I'd <U>never</U> want to buy a car that the studios played with. In most cases they are pretty shitty in real life and their time behind the camera isn't easy!!

I would like the Bullit mustang.

I saw one of the original TV Batman Batmobiles on the freeway not too long ago. Damn it's funny looking! (Barris studios is near me and it was a real one, several were built)

Athough you couldn't drive it on the street, I'd like to have one of the new Batmobiles (batman begins). I think they made something like three of them.

And ya, they are filming F&F3. A lady friend of mine works in accounting on it. What a waste of film!!!!!

I only see negativity.
Street racing is more popular than ever and theres a greater increase in general automotive ignorance.
Aftermarket companies are raking in billions of dollars on fart-cans, neon lights, aluminum wings, and ghey decals ex: flames, dragons, etc.)
All to make your car "FAST".
