thanks for the clarity. was late when i read the first time. Just an SiR hood for usdm lights. the jdm ones arent as easy to find. later i will go with the on piece front end so to fit a turbo and slicks but for not............should i fab the oem hood to clear, say a hole or dents. dont care for looks as it isnt for show and not a daily.

The OEM hood clears the valve covers just fine. But first off what motor do you have and what mounts?

jdm itr. the motor is in. i put on a black bseries valve cover to take the rub. the hood closes but tight. hard to get open once closed. the oem doesnt fit this swap so either need cf or fiberglass till i change to fiberglass one piece. hasport mounts

i have sort of beat the oem hood up since im using it with tight fit. it did have to compensate for the movement of the engine below. guess ill continue but one side is raised when closed about and inch or two. just looks funny and if i dont go with the one piece, which hood companies (cf or fiber) make good but low cost hoods?

There are many things you can still do.

-Take out the under lining off the hood. the balck carpet kinda stuff
-If that still doest not help you can get brave and cut your hood, cuttin parts of the skeliton off
-a ZC hood CF/FG or metal will fit.
-a SiR Style hood from FiberImages will work just fine too.
-last but not least, just deal with it 'till you get your FG front end.

I'm using an OEM hood with my b18c swap, and it shuts fine with no rubbing. HCP mounts

just space out your damn hood latch with some 1/4 inch washers...try that before you start throwing around money unless you really want an SiR style hood...it would look really pretty.

yeah seriously dude. . I did this too. .it's probably gonna be your cheapest solution. Don't waste money on a cf hood or whatever if it's just a temporary solution. Under a dollar for the washers and you're set. (You might have to trim the insulation a little as well like the other guy mentioned above.)

I am gonna have the same problem....I am thinking I need a 1 1/2" to 2" to clear the H22 valve cover. I need an Sir Style Carbo Fiber hood that fits a 91 CRX USDM hoodline...I am thinking Fiber Images, but that pos is 600!
