My A/C system is leaking through the low pressure service port valve. The valve stem is broken at the top wich is used to unscrew it, hence the valve cannot be removed or tightened. does anyone have any suggestions as to how to repair this problem.
Part stores sell the entire service port like the ones used to convert R12 to R-134a systems. I was wondering if the service port on my car could be unscrewed and replaced.
I drive a 94 Civic DX. The A/C system is R-134a

 

If I understand correctly, you'll need to replace the line.

 

that's what i was fearing. i was wonering if i could like recharge it with the gas and then try to seal it with jb weld or something like that. what do you think of this idea?

 

I believe he is correct you need to replace the line. Take the vehicle to a shop and have the system discharged if it already hasn't, replace the line and the o rings on the end of the line. If you haven't done it already, there is a filter in the system that should be replaced. Once you have replace this filter take it some where, where they can hook it up to a vacuum machine and get them to leave it on for a minimum of 1-2hours. The longer the better. Then charge it.
