Default new car...1987 civic wagon 4wd..what motor should i use....

okay..just got a new used car..for free... a 1987 civic wagon 4dr 4wd.. . the motor is getting ready to go and i want a new motor...any suggestions.....

Supposedly, the 86-89 Integra motor uses the same engine to trans bolt pattern as the wagon did....an 86-87 Teg D16A1 swap is easy, and it would make for a fun wagon.

Really? What about using a 3rd gen mount kit and converting the car to fwd and fuel injection?

Good luck getting a B series to mate up with that 4wd transmission.
More trouble than it's worth. Drive it, or sell it, but modding it is going to be not worth your time.
