Default Purchased my first Honda, engine opinion needed

Hey guys I just but my first honda..

it's a Euro Spec 93 Del Sol (called a Civic Crx here)

it comes with a D16a9 block, which i do believe is a ZC engine? do u know what Tranny is mated with this car? B16?

what exactly is the diff with a ZC engine?

would it be worth swapping to a B16a?

thanx for any help or pointers... thanx

p.s. I did a search for d16a9 and got no results :/

i'm not too familiar with the zc engines but the ones that i have seen say "zc" on the block not d16a9 that is from an 88-89 integra. if euro is the same as jdm then you should have a zc. it pumps out the same ponies but it is not a zc.

i say you just drop in a d16y8, its way cheaper it will use the original mounts and has alot of potential.

While it does have a lot of potential you'll see a night and day difference between the y8 and the B16. It really just is up to you and what your goals are for the car. I'm looking to hit 220HP with low amount of boost so I decided to move up from the ZC to B16.

If you are going to boost stick with a single cam they are better for boosting. if you deceide to go N/A then you want the b16. If your motor is a single cam V-tec than it is a ZC.

why is that? i didn't think any zc engine was vtec. what about d16y8 and d16z6 or d15z1, they are not zc and they are sohc vtec?
