Cost of engine rebuild??
Well.....my teg has been using oil like crazy lately. Especially if I get anywhere near the redline. It uses about a quart per 700-800 miles if i run it really hard.
Anyways, I've replaced the pcv and done all the other maintnence on it.....yet it still burns it. I also had a friend follow me down the highway, and when i downshifted to 3rd gear, he said it shot out quite a bit of smoke.
I'm guessing my rings are starting to go.....the car still runs fine, but the burning oil is a pain in the ***.
I'm considering doing a rebuild on the motor...new rings, valve seals, etc....basically all the gaskets and stuff. I'm wondering what price range I'm lookin at? I'd replace everything with stock parts. Just curious what people have payed for a rebuild. thanks!

there was a thread over on Team-Integra about this... the guy had it done under warranty, but said it would've costed around $1800 if he had to pay the dealer.

Dude before you do anything just make sure it is the rings!! what i mean is that sometimes the cylinder wall get so warped that just replacing the rings will do absolutly ****!! This is what happened to me and i had to fully replace the block!!
SOunds like rings to me.
I paid $700 for new arias pistons, balance & blueprint, and installation.
I took apart the block myself to save some $$$ and took it to the shop.

Had the same probably last year. So I did a complete rebuild during the winter. But I went all out. Took about 3 months to get everything back together but most of it was waiting for parts and machine shop. I did everything myself with a friend. I still spend about 5-6 grand on everything. But like I said, I went all out.
Give Performance Research a call. Talk to Mike, he's a good guy. You'll have to ask him if they'll do anything with the engine still in the car. Or you can just take everything to him.
