I am wondering what are the specifications of the ZC DOHC engine that came out in 88-91. I also want to know what cars it came in. Like did it come in the civic only or was it available on the Integra? Also was it sold here in the United States? And one rumor that I am confused about is that the ZC is actually a ZC D16; is this true or not? Thanks- Davey
Well I can help a little bit. I'm not a D series guy, but I do know that the first gen ZC came in the 88-91 Civic/CRX Si's, JDM. (I think Europe got the D16A8/D16A9, which is basically the same thing). The ZC IS a D16. It's very similar to the D16A1 that came in the US Integras prior to 1990.
basically correct - the 1st gen ZC is referred to as the brown valve cover ZC and bolts into 1st gen crx & 3d gen civic - the 2nd gen ZC is the black valve cover and bolts into the 2nd gen crx and 4th gen civic - they are D series and share a lot of parts with the D16A1 and D16A3, but they are not the same.
