Default Intercoolers

hey guys, i'm posting this here cos all the turbo Accord guys are here, and i've never got an answer from FI about accord particulars

Just wondering how thick can intercoolers be when mounted behind the '96 front bar. Reason for this is i think the cooler i am getting of a mate will be rather thick, and not sure if it'll fit

The cooler is the thick cooler seen in the pics below, from a mkiv supra TT:

Cheers

well it doesnt matter how big it is but how effective the intercooler work.
Can't help you now but I'll get some pic tomorrow for you.
oh yeah...you dont want to scrape your intercooler, that pos is expensive as hell...
it should be fine, since you have bags

I dont have bags, i wish i did though

Definitely wanna avoid scraping, and wanna avoid cutting the bumper much, The only reason i wanna use this is cos i was given it for free by a mate. I cant get it off him till he gets back from holiday in June though

The cooler as far as i know is about right for my purposes and is efficient enough...the only reason size concerns me is whether it'll fit! I think i measures about 10x8x5, but i am not 100% sure on that

Most of the time is the piping that cause most of the problem..
PWR makes some good/useful intercooler

A 3" thick core is plenty, and it'll fit fine.
Contrary to popular belief, you dont want an IC that's too big. That'll cause pressure loss through it. And no, dont just say, "well, I'll just turn up the boost."

Mike (MKteller8) on here sells some good units.

yeh the only problem i can see with it is the actual core thickness, i think its around 5". I've definitely been looking for coolers that are the right size, rather than just big. I'd rather have one that is efficient than a huge POS that causes nothing but lag and boost drop.

From your posts height and with should be fine though, thats good...i'm hoping that its not too thick then

I am going big for a reason, but yeah the spearco core should be very functional here.
