Default Sunroof will pop up, but not slide back.

My sunroof dosn't work all the way. The sunroof will pop up, but it will not slide back. Have any of you all had the same problem? I've already taken the switch apart and sanded down all of the contacts? Any ideas? TIA

I had the same problem with mine and the railes were really dirty and the sunroof turned out to be off track a little. just make sure it's all the way on the tracks and clean up the rails, worked for me so far.

Does it sound like it wants to move or does it sound like the motor took a crap? The motor on cars only has like a 7 or so life span(depends on the use). You will be able to tell if it did.

happens to me all the time, the grease thats on the rails tends to get really dry and sticky over time, blast it with wd 40 but best thing would probably be some type of grease so it doesnt dry.

The switches wear out for those sunroofs, a couple friends of mine had crx's w/the same problem, if you wiggle the switch while pressing it the roof will go back the whole way.

I think its your switch. Take the switch out of the dash and carefully disassemble it. Remove the scorch marks on the contacts and put it back together.

I've removed the switch twice now and sanded down the contacts until there was no plastic on them. I am still having the same problem though. I'm going to try a different switch this weekend. I hope that works. Any other ideas?

Mine will not pop up, but slides back and forth also. Mine will not lock solid in the closed position and will move up and down when pushed.

Damn, you guys are making me feel a little bit better about my sunroof problems. It's too bad that we all don't live closer together. We should put a sunroof repair write-up on here. Any other ideas?
