If you are gonna go fi then there isnt any reason to get a h22.

well, i had a H23 and was going to FI but after doing a lot of research on H-T, I opted to go with the H22 because of reliability issuses with the FI and because it is my daily driver. I am very pleased with my H22, It is so much better then the H23.

Because the h23 is good motor for turbo. its closed deck plus its a 2.3 instead of a 2.2. no reason to spend money on another motor when you could put that money towards a rebuild or better turbo parts.

I don't think its necessary to get an h22. I did my research as well and when it came down to it, buying a spare h23 and having that built was cheaper than h22 and having it built. for my goals, the advantages of vtec didn't matter to me. I've read about some of the h23 setups here and they are doing just fine. h22 is possibly the better motor but if you're building anyway, then just stick with the h23

H23/F22 tranny (grinds somtimes, needs rebuild) with cable shift linkage $450+shipping
$450 for a transmission that grinds?!?!

i got my h23 transmission, which doesn't grind for $300 shipped.
