Desperate need of H22 help...
Okay, everything is in place but my car still will not start. Here is a list of things I have fixed or have tested...
1- Brand new distributor (rewired from external to interal coil, all plugs, coils, etc. have voltage and resistance checked)
2- Injector resistor working
3- Fuel pump engages and gets fuel
4- No "CEL/MIL" codes showing
5- All grounds are hooked up
6- Timing looks to be correct (never touched timing belt since I got the motor, both cam gears line up and belt is good)
7- Battery is good
8- Starter is good
9- Fuses are all good
10- Firing order is correct (1342 clockwise)
Now this is the problem, the car does not start and will only turn over. Did the trick where you pull one of the plugs out to check for spark and no spark at all. When I turn the car over, it makes a popping sound and a small amount of smoke comes out the pipe with a slight burning smell. Can anyone help me? I really need to get this car running ASAP.
And as far as the PGM Main Relay goes, is it possible for it to go bad even if nothing was wrong with it before I did the swap? I don't see why the relay would just go bad.
The motor has been sitting a pretty long time, would it take a while for it to start or would it fire right up?

Well you got your problem right there. No spark. Do an Ignitor check, then doublecheck the coil to see if it's still good and then check the magnetic reluctors. You've got yourself down to the ignition system. though it's brand new, sounds like it's either wired up wrong or there may be defective components.
Also, sounds like a familar problem which happened to me once, the plug wires might be switched. Doublecheck the resistance in the plug wires while you're at it. check to see if you're getting voltage off the coil's high voltage end by putting a wire to a spark plug and then seeing if you get spark there. If you do, then it's bad connections in the cap. Are you sure you're using the right cap for the job, seeing that you've converted to internal? I've seen that before.
time to whip out that multimeter and start testing, also you said you tetsted resistance in the coil right?
and checked the ignitor?
and checked the reluctors for voltage when you spin the shaft?
that the shaft is lined up in the correct orientation? (some ppl can put it backwards, LOL)
that plug wires are in the right order for that year, and the distributor reluctors match TDC for each cyl?
That you have voltage going to the coil?
(i know you checked but no problens in checking again right? edit)

That's cool, I finally got it running. Turns out that the damn thing had been sitting too long so it took a long time for it to get started. I'll post pics soon...Thanks

he used to swear by that auto h22 accord. He has finally seen the light now.
He does know about the h22 though, and all the swap and obd garbage you can think of.
