does anybody make a piston to up the compression? i know the endyne rollerwaves are good, but i heard they are pretty much stock compression, and i'm lookin for about 10.5:1. would milling the head be a good idea for this? can i get that much compression boost from just headwork? i have a great head at my disposal for this sort of mod........i dont know if it possible without screwing up the timing, thats all.
I milled the Head on my ZC 1.4 Mil no ill effects and Yields a 10.6:1 Compression Ratio.....I am running a set of ZC Bros Stage 2 Cams as well and No problems yet.

Have you dyno'd it or ran it at a track? I'd like to know what kind of gains you have over a stock ZC. Does it feel like a big difference from stock?

I was actually talking about aftermarket a6 pistons.

that being the case & since a6/z6 pistons (stock) would lower compression would you have to buy pistons designed for like an 11.5 ish compression in teh a6/z6 in order to reach a 10.5ish compression in the zc?

i was doing a few searches and i found a few things about milling the head.....so i'm probably gonna try to get ahold of a head to do that to this summer......1.4 sounds good to me. who has thinner headgaskets? i cant find anything on those for the zc. are they the same as d16 headgaskets? ive read yes and no on that. how are those zc bros cams man? i'm really lookin into regrinds this summer. how do you like your setup man? that thing seems like it would rip.
you'll need to use the 88-89 teg headgasket I am pretty sure. check out

this is a forum dedicated to zc's. there is not nearly as much traffic on there so responses are way slower than ht, but they can help i'm sure.

Race Engineering sells a bitchin MLS (multi layer steel) headgasket that is .040" thick. That's .008" thinner than stock. It will up your compression a bit and it's a much nicer gasket than the graphite **** that Honda used in the stock gasket.

i just called race engineering about a mls head gasket, and they stock them, so i'll be rockin one of those shortly for sure......thanks for the info guys. also, do you guys know if the entire valve train needs to be dis-assembled for the head to be milled? i plan on rippin out the cams and stuff for a regrind, but the head i might be getting was rebuilt about 2000 mile ago, so its in quality shape. thanks again.
You do not need to disassemble the valvetrain to mill the head. You do need to pull the dowel pins out, but usually the machine shop will do that for you. The cam caps, rocker arms, and studs for the valve cover will need to come out, but that's it. Easy.

The ZC and 86-89 Integra use the same headgasket. The gasket is actually designed around a ZC, but I used it in my 89 Teg engine with no probs.
