to everyone with a hydro tranny in an EF....

how do i get the electric VSS to work with the EF? is it possible? i'm putting a d16y7 in a 90 civic dx auto, and we are going to use the hydro tranny. got the whole swap with 15k miles for $500. so, we have no choice but to use this tranny

the mounts and clutch issues have been figured out using custom brackets, so i don't need answers for that... just the VSS

 

Why not remove the electronic VSS and just use a regular cable drive from an eariler car? This works fine. Even if your ECU is from a 1992+ car.

 

can that be swapped in?

i doesn't even look remotely similar to the VSS housing.

 

when i swapped my b16 into my hatch I had to remove the electronic vss and replace it with the gear type one from my stock d-series tranny. bolted up just fine.

did swapping it work?? i thought they looked very different too.

 

I did what red civic did also. Just unbolt the 10mm bolt and pull out the entire assembly, swap it and call it a day. Dont forget to reuse the flat gear holder plate that is on the cable tranny.
