1.) Don't floor it at every stoplight. That is probably why your mpg's are so low
2.) Those Tornado Air things have been tested on here b4 and they're just a gimmick. They don't work and actually end up making you lose hp on your mid-top end
3.) Try changing your plugs, oil, wires, distributor cap. 99% of all mpg problems are because the car is in need of a simple tuneup.

could be a lot of things

however, to answer your question about the tornado: no it doesn't work, but it certainly won't harm your car. but it IS a waste of cash.

i found using higher octane actually helped MPG on my friends corrolla...

he was consitanlty getting more km's outta a single tank then he was with regular..

as if he produced more power at less revs and therefore burned less gas

ok i can answer this one. Tornado Does not Work!!!!
i've bought it for my si about a year ago because i do a lot of highway driving. i got the same mpg without it. i spent $60 on pos gimmick.
just save yourself some money and not buy it.
another suggestion i have is to be easy on the gas pedal when you accelerate and keep your speed steady.
i get about 290miles on full tank going around 70 mph.
i repeat guys, that **** does not work.

Maybe you have a bad oxygen sensor. That will cause crappy gas mileage.
