Have you guys used a Prelude radiator? Is there a difference? I am about to replace the radiator on someone's '96 accord, and was wondering if it would be beneficial to swap in a prelude radiator.

best radiator is (drumroll):

All metal. Thick. No plastic endtanks (that means non-OEM honda)

 

get the biggest one that will fit if you live somewhere hot

 

I know the plastic **** sucks. I don't have that on my car. I was actually wanting to know if the stock accord radiator is any smaller/less efficient than the prelude.

 

I'd just measure length and width...whatever is bigger i'd buy that.

Physics says

Increased swept surface area is superior to just increased thickness.
Increased swept surface area with increased thickness is most superior.

However, most mild increases in HP need no bigger radiator to handle them. If your friend was turbo or superchaging....a different story. But you already know that.
